Lula in Paraná to support candidates and ask non-right-wing voters for votes, by Gleidson Carlos

Lula gathers supporters in Curitiba and moves left calculations in Paraná, with impacts on contests for Governor and Senate in 2026.

Lula was in Curitiba this weekend and gathered a crowd of supporters in Boca Maldita.

But beware: it is not because the Paraná is a state marked by antipetism and anti-leftism that the left no longer has votes. And that is a calculation that right-wing politicians cannot despise.

In the government dispute, Requião Filho spent weeks ahead of Sandro Alex. Today, the scenario has changed, but the left-wing electorate continues to exist and may be decisive.

In the Senate, the scenario is even more interesting. Gleisi Hoffmann appears technically tied with names like Deltan, Alexandre Curi and Cristina Graeml.

And there is already a political calculation circulating in some strongholds: the useful vote on Alexandre Curi to try to prevent the election of Deltan.

In practice, the logic would be: those who vote for Gleisi also vote for Curi.

If Requião fails to make the second round and Moro also fails to win, where do the votes on the left go? One party may migrate to Sandro Alex, especially between the anti-Moro voter and a more moderate left. That is: the left may not have the strength to beat the Paraná alone.

But you can have enough strength to decide who wins. That completely changes the calculation of the election.
