Man convicted of over 16 years for sexual abuse of a vulnerable person is arrested in Irati

The Civil Police of Paraná (PCPR) carried out on Friday (9), in Irati, a definitive arrest warrant against a man sentenced to more than 16 years of imprisonment for the crime of rape of vulnerable.

According to PCPR, the crime was committed against the convict’s own granddaughter, who was a minor at the time of the events, recorded in 2022.

Investigation began in 2022

The case was investigated by the Irati Civil Police Station. The investigations began in 2022 and subsequently resulted in the offering of a complaint and the progress of the process in the courts.

After the judicial procedure, the definitive conviction was established in October 2026 by the Criminal Court of the County of Irati.

With the issuance of the arrest warrant, police teams began to carry out searches and diligences to locate the convict.

The man presented himself accompanied by a lawyer

According to the Civil Police, during the period in which the diligences were carried out, the man appeared at the police unit accompanied by a lawyer.

At the police station, officers formalized the execution of the arrest warrant.

After judicial police proceedings, the convict was referred to the Criminal Police Department, where he remains in custody for the beginning of the execution of the sentence.
