Motorcyclist hit by truck after fall on BR-376 in Ponta Grossa

An accident on the BR-376 in Ponta Grossa involving a motorcycle and a wagon mobilized emergency teams on Thursday (17), at km 484 of the highway, in the direction Ponta Grossa–Curitiba. The motorcyclist, 34, suffered abrasions but was conscious and refused hospital referral after being evaluated at the site.

According to information obtained at the scene, the motorcyclist was driving on the highway when he had faced a problem in the brake system of the bike. Before the crash, he would have signaled with one of his hands to alert the vehicles that followed just behind.

Motorcyclist falls on the track

According to initial information, the motorcyclist lost control and fell on the highway. A carriage that followed just behind could not completely avoid the accident.

The 54-year-old truck driver, who was on the runway, reportedly noticed the situation and performed a sudden braking, as well as trying to deflect from the man who was down on the track. Despite the attempt, the wagon hit the motorcyclist, who ended up under the vehicle.

After the accident, the man was removed and received attention from the emergency teams activated for the occurrence.

The victim refused to be referred to the hospital

An ambulance of the Samu, with medical staff, was at the scene and evaluated the motorcyclist. According to the information passed on, he presented mainly abrasions in the cinnamon, ankle and legs region.

Despite the impact, the man was conscious, could walk and talked normally with the teams. After the medical evaluation, he signed a refusal term for referral to a hospital unit.

The driver of the truck, 37, had no reported injuries.

In addition to Samu, teams from the dealership responsible for the stretch, the Fire Department and the Federal Road Police (PRF) were at km 484 to provide care and perform the necessary procedures.
