PM carries out operation against drug trafficking in Ponta Grossa and Castro

The Operation against drug trafficking in Ponta Grossa was launched by the Military Police on the morning of Tuesday (8), with actions also carried out in the municipality of Castro, in Campos Gerais. The operation “Persona Ficta” was carried out in support of the 2nd Prosecutor’s Office and the 3rd Criminal Court, with the aim of combating the illegal narcotics trade organized through social networks and digital platforms.

The action was attended by the Intelligence Sector of the 1st Military Police Battalion (1st BPM), which carried out surveys and investigations to identify those involved in the drug trafficking scheme.

In all, 14 search and seizure warrants and an arrest warrant were executed. During the operation, eight people were arrested by police teams.

Among the seized materials are a .38 caliber revolver, 11 ammunition of the same caliber, 92 grams of hashish (Dry), 77 grams of marijuana, 8 grams of “cow,” 180 grams of MDMA, seven tablets of LSD, three precision scales, five cellular devices and a sum of money.

According to the Military Police, the investigation indicated that the group used social networks and digital platforms to facilitate the distribution and commercialization of narcotics.

The action is part of a strategy of the security forces to combat new forms of drug trafficking organization, which began to use digital tools for communication, dissemination and negotiation of illicit products.

The detainees and all the seized materials were sent to the Civil Police Station, where the legal procedures were carried out.

One of the detainees, identified as Hildebrando de Souza, was referred to the House of Custody of Ponta Grossa.

The Operation Against Drug Trafficking reinforces the integrated work between the Military Police, the Public Prosecutor’s Office and the Judiciary in the fight against organized crime in the Campos Gerais.
