There is also the possibility of hail falling during the formation of storms.
Ponta Grossa is among the affected regions
The alert covers different areas of Paraná, including the Centro Oriental Paranaense, where Ponta Grossa and municipalities of Campos Gerais are located. Also appear among the affected areas the Pioneer North, Metropolitan Region of Curitiba, Central-West, North-West, North-Central, South-West, South-East and South-Central of the Paraná.
The official forecast of the Inmet for this Wednesday indicates an increase in instability throughout the Southern Region. Rain is expected in Paraná and thunderstorms are expected throughout the day. The meteorological agency points out that the state is among the areas with conditions for storm formation, including the possibility of hail and strong gusts of wind.
The instability is associated with low pressure areas and atmospheric digging over the center-south of Brazil, a scenario that favors the formation of charged clouds.
What are the risks
Although the warning is classified as a potential danger, the Inmet points to the possibility of occurrences related to bad weather. Among the risks are fall of tree branches, flooding, damage to plantations and occasional interruptions in the supply of electricity.
The guidance is for residents to follow the weather conditions mainly during the formation of clouds and episodes of gusts of wind.
Inmet
In case of strong winds, Inmet recommends that people do not stay under trees, due to the risk of falling branches and electric shocks. It is also recommended not to park vehicles near transmission towers, trees or advertising signs.
During storms, the population should also avoid using electronic devices connected directly to the outlet. In emergency situations or for guidance, residents can contact Defesa Civil by phone 199 or the Fire Department by 193.
