Ponta Grossa Municipality laments delay of Münchenfest and promises to follow developments
Ponta Grossa Municipality laments delay of 35th Münchenfest and will follow developments. The festival remains without a new date announced.

Prefeitura de Ponta Grossa regretted the postponement of the 35th Münchenfest and reported that it received with concern the announcement made by the organization. The National Festival of the Dark Chop was scheduled to take place between November 6 and 15, 2026, at the Event Center, and continues with no new date announced.
In a note, the municipal administration highlighted the historical, cultural and economic importance of Münchenfest for the city. The City Council stated that it will follow the developments of the decision and the necessary procedures, seeking to ensure transparency and avoid harm to the population.
The positioning takes place after the organizing company communicates the postponement and presents the justifications to suspend the realization in the planned period.
Organisation points to economic difficulties and concern for the climate
According to the organization, the decision took into account economic difficulties that affect families, companies and sponsors, the reduction of public interest in the event and the current political scenario.
The company also cited weather forecasts that it classified as unfavourable for the holiday period. According to the organisers’ statement, the conditions would be associated with the El Niño phenomenon and would represent an additional risk to the event and to the public.
In the note, officials acknowledged the historical importance of Münchenfest and said that the postponement was considered the most prudent measure in the face of the factors presented.
Tickets will have automatic return
The organization said that the values of the tickets already purchased will be automatically returned in up to ten working days, by the platform itself responsible for sales.
The candidates previously selected for the Contest of the Majesties will have the vacancies preserved for when there is a new date for the 35th edition, according to the press release.
