Stolen car found in suspicious situation in PG

A vehicle with a theft alert was found abandoned on Friday morning (23), in Rua Custódio Vaz, near the intersection with Rua Jesuíno Manoel de Almeida, in Ponta Grossa. The car had damage to the hood, possibly caused during an attempt to remove the battery.

According to information from the Traffic and Road Safety Superintendence, the incident was attended at around 10:35 a.m., after a request sent by the Traffic Operations Center (COTRAN). The Alfa team, made up of agents Ana and Felipe, moved to the informed address to verify the situation of a vehicle apparently abandoned on public roads.

The vehicle had been stolen hours earlier.

During the verification, the agents found that the car had a theft alert, with an occurrence report registered around 2 a.m. on Friday (23). The identification confirmed that the vehicle had been the target of a theft occurrence recorded approximately eight hours before its location.

In addition, the team observed damage to the car’s hood, which showed signs of being forced. According to the officers' report, there is a suspicion that the structure was damaged during an attempt to remove the battery. To date, there is no information about the authorship of the theft or the circumstances in which the vehicle was abandoned at the site.

Civilian police will be called for return procedures

After the verification of the theft alert, the Traffic Superintendence informed that the return of the vehicle will be prepared with the Civil Police. The procedure should allow the regularization of the situation of the car and the necessary referrals for its return to the owner.
