Video shows serious accident on BR-376 in Ponta Grossa, with a car going the wrong way and a truck overturning while trying to avoid it.
A video shows the exact moment of a serious accident on BR-376 at Ponta Grossa, recorded in the early hours of Wednesday (14). In the images, it is possible to see a car traveling against the road and, subsequently, a truck trying to deflect before falling on the track.
The accident occurred around 4:50 a.m., at km 466 of BR-376, in the direction Ponta Grossa–Londrina. According to information from the Federal Highway Police (PRF), the Fiat Uno was going against the grain when it came in front of the truck. To avoid a frontal collision, the trucker performed a deflection maneuver, lost control of the steering and the cargo vehicle fell.
Video Records Moment of Accident
The recording obtained by the BnT shows the dynamics of the occurrence. The car appears following the lane contrary to the normal flow of the highway. Seconds later, the truck approaches and the driver performs a sudden maneuver to avoid the impact.
The cargo vehicle then loses its stability and falls on the highway.
The images reinforce the preliminary information released by PRF on the dynamics of the accident. There is no official information so far as to why the driver of the car was driving in the wrong direction.
The driver of the car was injured
The driver of the Fiat Uno suffered injuries and was taken care of by the dealership team responsible for the stretch. He was forwarded to Hospital Universitário Regional dos Campos Gerais (HU-UEPG).
The driver of the truck was not injured.
Truck blocked BR-376
After the overturn, the truck was crossed over the track and caused the total interdiction of the north direction of the BR-376.
The dealership teams worked on the removal of the vehicle and the release of the highway. During the attendance of the occurrence, drivers who were heading north faced blockages and needed to seek alternative routes.
The PRF must follow the procedures to clarify the circumstances that led the car to travel on the other hand.
