Cyclone and cold front raise risk of storms in Brazil; PR is among the areas to watch
Week starts with polar air entering the South, while heavy rains advance in other parts of the country

The formation of an extratropical cyclone on the coast of the Southern Region, between Saturday (24) and Sunday (25), contributes to a scenario of instability in different parts of Brazil this week. Associated with the system, a cold front advances toward Bahia and favors the occurrence of storms, according to Climatempo information released by CNN Brazil on Monday (26).
The forecast indicates that the most intense rains should mainly affect areas of the North and Northeast. Tocantins, Pará, Bahia, Maranhão and Piauí are among the states that require attention for heavy rainfall until Wednesday (28).
According to the information attributed to the National Meteorological Institute (Inmet), the organization of a moisture channel also contributes to extending rainfall conditions in different regions.
Paraná is among the areas cited on alert
The Paraná appears among the states with areas mentioned in the orange storm alert in the report, next to São Paulo, Rio de Janeiro, Minas Gerais, Espírito Santo and Mato Grosso do Sul.
The material, however, does not detail the Paraná municipalities covered or the times of validity of the notices. There is no specific information about Ponta Grossa and Campos Gerais in the released text.
In the South, the week begins with the entry of a cold air mass of polar origin, with influence until Tuesday (27). After a truce in part of the region, the rain is expected to return from Wednesday.
Instability gains strength again during the week
The displacement of meteorological caves — elongated areas of low pressure that favor the formation of clouds — is expected to cause new instability in the South and Southeast from Wednesday.
In the Southeast and Midwest, the forecast also points to conditions for rain strokes. Among the areas cited are the north of Minas Gerais, the Espírito Santo, the Federal District, the north of Goiás and Mato Grosso.
The action of the weather systems should cause changes in temperatures throughout the week. In the South, the inflow of polar air leaves the beginning of the colder period, while other regions will have variations associated with the advance of the cold front and the occurrence of rain.
