Driver is taken to police station after collision in Ponta Grossa Center

A collision on Ponta Grossa ended with a driver being referred to the police station on Sunday morning, after an accident occurred at the intersection of Coronel Francisco Ribas and Xavier da Silva streets. According to the patrulhamento viário team, the driver presented signs that raised suspicion of drunkenness during the care.

The incident was recorded around 6:25 a.m. and involved a Renault Kwid and a Fiat Argo. According to the information passed on by the drivers to the agents, Kwid was traveling along Xavier da Silva Street and, upon arriving at the intersection with Coronel Street Francisco Ribas, the cross-over collision occurred with the other car.

In the stretch of Rua Xavier da Silva there is a sign of regulation R-1, the well-known “STOP” sign. The circumstances and responsibilities of the accident shall be considered on the basis of the information gathered in the Traffic Occurrence Bulletin.

Driver showed signs during attendance

During the collision procedures, officers reported that the driver of the Renault Kwid presented signs such as difficulty walking, altered speech and reddish eyes.

Given the situation, the driver was offered to perform the test of the ethylometer. According to the record of the occurrence, she refused the procedure.

The team then prepared a Notice of Finding and referred the driver to the police station for the appropriate procedures. The description of the signals presented by the agents and the refusal to test are part of the record of the occurrence.

The referral to the police station does not mean, in itself, a condemnation or definitive proof of intoxication, it is up to the responsible authorities to analyze the circumstances of the case and take the measures provided for the situation.

Vehicle was taken to the courtyard

According to the information of the occurrence, there was no other person responsible for the Renault Kwid at the site who could take over the car after the driver's referral.

For this reason, the vehicle was eventually removed to the courtyard.

The care took place in the early hours of Sunday morning, in an important circulation region of Ponta Grossa. There was no information in the report sent to the report on injuries resulting from the collision.
