Woman stabbed six times in a diner and suspect arrested in Ortigueira

An attempted murder in Ortigueira left a woman injured after she was struck by six knife wounds on Saturday night, at a snack bar and beverage distributor located in the Bonito Lageado District. The suspect was arrested by a team from the 26th Military Police Battalion.

According to information released by the Military Police, the woman named as the author of the assaults remained in the establishment during the day consuming alcoholic beverages. At one point, she would have gone to a residence located in the back of the cafeteria and returned carrying a knife.

According to police, the attack occurred suddenly. The victim was shot six times and sustained injuries to the chest, shoulders, left hand and neck.

Witnesses Stopped Assault

The attack was halted after people who were on the scene noticed the attack and intervened to contain the suspicion.

The husband of the victim gave first aid and took the woman to the Municipal Hospital of Ortigueira. According to the information passed on to the Military Police, one of the wounds struck the region of the neck and was very close to an artery.

Despite the severity of the blows, the victim received medical attention. No new information has been released so far about his health status.

Suspect was located and arrested

Military Police teams operating in Ortigueira were triggered and were on the scene shortly after the occurrence. According to the company, the suspect showed aggressive behavior and apparent signs of drunkenness.

She also had a small head injury and before being referred to the police station, she received medical attention.

After the medical release, the woman was taken to the Civil Police Station of Ortigueira. The knife allegedly used during the attack was also seized and handed over to police.

The occurrence was referred to the appropriate legal procedures and, according to the Military Police, the suspect was presented to the Civil Police for a clearance for the attempted murder.

The case should continue to be investigated by the Civil Police, responsible for investigating the circumstances and the motivation of the attack.
