Motorcyclist Falls on BR-376, Hit by Truck and Dies in Tragedy
Serious Accident Happened on Thursday Night (22), in the South Contour of Curitiba. The Victim Died at the Scene and Two Lanes of the Highway Had to Be Closed, Causing Traffic Congestion
A motorcyclist died in a serious traffic accident recorded on Thursday night (October 22, 2026), on BR-376, in the section known as Contorno Sul, in the region of the Industrial City of Curitiba (CIC). The incident occurred at the height of kilometer 604.3, on the track direction São José of the Pinhais, towards São Paulo.
The accident involved a motorcycle and cargo vehicles. According to the information initially disclosed by the Via Araucária dealership, responsible for the administration of the stretch, the occurrence was recorded as a collision between a motorcycle and a truck, with confirmation of a death.
According to information published by local media, the motorcyclist, a man of approximately 35 years, was driving a Honda CG when he was involved in a side collision with a truck. After the first impact, he fell on the track and was struck by a carriage loaded with cement, which was traveling along the highway.
The victim was reportedly dragged for several meters. Rescue teams from the dealership were called in to respond to the incident, but due to the severity of the injuries, the motorcyclist did not resist and died at the scene.
Accident caused lanes interdiction and congestion
The accident mobilized emergency teams and caused disturbances for drivers passing through the Southern Contour on Thursday night. According to the information disclosed by Via Araucária, two tracks of BR-376 had to be banned in the direction São Paulo to allow the attendance of the occurrence and the necessary procedures on site.

During the interdiction, the vehicles were directed to the sidewalk. The blockade reduced the highway’s circulation capacity and caused congestion, with queues stretching for several kilometers.
Scientific Police conducting expert investigations on the spot
Teams of the Scientific Police of Paraná were in the stretch to carry out the expert surveys. After the procedures, the body of the victim was sent to the Medical-Legal Institute (IML) of Curitiba.
As of Friday morning (23), the identity of the motorcyclist had not been disclosed in the information consulted. The circumstances that caused the first collision and the sequence of impacts still depend on clarification by the competent authorities.
The accident occurred in one of the important road corridors of the Metropolitan Region of Curitiba, used daily by trucks, motorcycles and passenger vehicles.
The circumstances of death will be investigated.
The authorities will have to analyze the traces found on the highway to clarify the dynamics of the accident, including the initial collision and the subsequent run-in. There is still no conclusive information on the responsibility of the drivers involved or on the factors that contributed to the occurrence.
