Ponta Grossa opens Refis with full discount on interest and fines
Refis Ponta Grossa starts on Monday (5) with special conditions for taxpayers to regularize municipal debts until December

The Prefeitura de Ponta Grossa begins next Monday (5) a new stage of the Tax Recovery Program (PRF), known as Refis. The initiative will allow taxpayers to regularize municipal debts with a 100% discount on fines and interest for payments made in cash.
The special condition will be available until December 18, 2026 and includes municipal taxes that are late.
Negotiation can be done over the internet
Taxpayers can join the program without having to attend in person at the City Hall. The negotiation will be available through the official website of the Municipality, through the Digital Government area, and also through the OXY Citizen app.
According to the municipal secretary of the Treasury, Cláudio Grokoviski, a specific access will be made available on the home page of the City Hall website to facilitate the issuance of documents.
“We will have a specific icon on the home page of the site to make it easier for the population to view. With the online service, taxpayers will be able to issue the ticket at any time, without having to travel to the Service Square,” he explains.
The possibility of digital negotiation will not be valid for debts that are already in legal proceedings or protest. In these cases, the taxpayer should seek specific care to check the conditions available.
Collection can impact future transfers
In addition to offering an opportunity for residents and companies to regularize pending proceedings, the City Council highlights that the program may also have reflections on the municipal collections in the coming years.
This is because future transfers related to the Goods and Services Tax (IBS) should consider the average of the municipalities’ own collections in the period between 2019 and 2026.
As 2026 is the last year considered in this calculation, the Municipality evaluates that the recovery of overdue values can contribute to expand the basis used in the definition of future transfers.
“Receiving the overdue amounts serves as a kind of tax insurance, protecting Ponta Grossa from a sharp drop in revenues in the future and shielding the budget of the next generations,” says Grokoviski.
Deadline ends in December
Taxpayers interested in taking advantage of the full discount on fines and interest must make the payment in a single installment by December 18.
The guidance is to consult the debits through the digital channels of the City Hall and check the conditions available for each situation.
