The Imbituvense Producer Fair is expected to go through a new stage of professionalization in the coming months. The City of Imbituva and Sebrae/PR signed, on Thursday (1st), a partnership to develop a program aimed at strengthening small rural producers and businesses related to the fair.

In total, 20 producers will be accompanied for 12 months. The work provides for a series of individual and collective actions, including business diagnostics, specialized consulting, practical workshops and training.

Among the main themes that will be worked on are price formation, business management, consumer service, marketing, dissemination, presentation of the stands and adequacy to sanitary requirements. The Producer Fair should also receive its own visual identity, as well as dissemination actions on social networks and in other areas of the municipality.

From production to sale

The proposal seeks to act mainly in a stage that still represents a challenge for small producers: to transform the quality of production into sales and business growth.

According to the municipal secretary of Agriculture and Livestock, Cristiane Tabarro Borgo, the municipality has been accompanying producers since 2025 and has identified the need to expand support in the commercial area.

“The producer knows how to produce, but he doesn’t know how to sell,” says Cristiane.

From this diagnosis, the City Council sought Sebrae/PR to develop actions aimed at pricing, management, product presentation and relationship with consumers.

For Sebrae/PR consultant André Paganotto, changes in the organization and the way products are presented can directly contribute to making the feira mais attractive.

“The presentation and standardization of products and stalls can make the feira mais attractive and facilitate the perception of value by the consumer,” he explains.

Producers will have specialized monitoring

Participants were selected from enterprises that already receive follow-up from the municipality. Priority has been given to producers with potential for growth, innovation and the development of new markets.

In addition to the training held in Imbituva, the program provides a technical mission for the group to know experiences from other fairs and ventures. The intention is to observe practices that can be adapted to local reality.

Another subject that will be addressed is the Selo Arte, intended for handmade food products of animal origin that meet the requirements provided for in the legislation.

The seal, coupled with sanitary regularization, can expand the commercial reach of producers, including allowing the commercialization of products in different regions of the country.

Handmade cheese seeks new markets

Among the producers involved is Reginaldo Jardim, from the Queijaria Cultura Mineira. It produces fresh cheeses and ripened in an artisanal way and intends to use the program to expand production and find new sales channels.

Reginaldo does not yet market directly at the Producer’s Fair, but sees the space as a possibility to present the products to more consumers.

“The challenge is to deal with the competition of low-cost industrial products and to show the public the value of artisanal work and ripening time,” he says.

In the coming months, the producer intends to expand the variety of products, increase the manufacture of mature cheeses, establish partnerships with commercial establishments of Imbituva and organize a system of order sales during the week.

For him, one of the main challenges is precisely to reconcile production with commercialization, in addition to fulfilling all the necessary steps for sanitary regularization.

“The purchasing power of the population varies, which requires us to balance the fair price with the quality we offer,” he says.

Fair as space of desenvolvimento local

With the partnership, the expectation is that producers will be more prepared not only to sell at the fair, but also to manage their own businesses and seek new business opportunities.

The initiative also aims to strengthen the relationship between producers and consumers and encourage that the resources generated by the commercialization remain circulating in the economy of Imbituva.

For Reginaldo, bringing the consumer closer to the artisanal process can also make a difference in the purchase decision.

“When a person tastes a well-made cheese and knows the story behind it, the sale will happen naturally.”
