Simepar warns of rain and thunderstorms in Ponta Grossa and region this Saturday

The weather forecast in Ponta Grossa and region indicates a Saturday (12) with possibility of rain throughout the day, mainly between afternoon and evening, according to information released by Simepar. The instability conditions are also expected to affect other cities of the Campos Gerais, with lower temperatures and the possibility of thunderstorms.

According to the meteorological institute, Saturday is expected to be marked by moderate to strong rainfall in different regions of the Paraná. In the northern half of the state, there is the possibility of localized storms during the day, while in the Campos Gerais and in the eastern strip the rains should occur mainly in the afternoon to night.

During the early hours of Saturday, several cities in Paraná recorded accumulated rainfall. The largest volumes were observed mainly in the North and Northwest regions of Paraná.

Between midnight and 5 am, Cornélio Procópio recorded 32.4 mm of rain, followed by Santo Antônio Platinum, with 25.4 mm, Diamond of the North, with 22.8 mm, Loanda, with 21.4 mm, Paranavaí, with 20.4 mm, and Cidade Gaúcha, with 18 mm.

In the East of Paraná there were also records of rainfall during the early morning, with accumulated above 10 millimeters in some locations.

Temperatures in Ponta Grossa and cities in the region

The weather forecast in Ponta Grossa points to a minimum of 11°C and a maximum of 23°C on Saturday. The scenario should be similar in other cities of the Campos Gerais.

Even with rain forecasts, temperatures are expected to be milder in the region, especially when compared to the hottest days recorded recently.

Simepar points out that the instability remains during Saturday, with the possibility of rain strokes accompanied by thunderstorms in some areas.

Residents of Ponta Grossa and Campos Gerais should keep track of weather updates throughout the day, especially in the event of changes in rainy conditions and the occurrence of isolated storms.
