Two bodies are found in areas near a city in Paraná; police are investigating

A body found in Abranches, in Curitiba, in the afternoon of Wednesday (30), had about 15 perforations and signs of cuts in the neck region. The corpse was located in a river less than 500 meters from the point where, the night before, the body of Ederson Correia Costa, 30, had been found, which was without head and arms. The police have not yet confirmed a relationship between the two incidents.

According to the Paraná (PMPR) Military Police, the man found on Wednesday appeared to be between 25 and 30 years old. The body was partially submerged and covered by stones, in a forest area of difficult access at the end of Everton Ribeiro dos Santos Street, in the Abranches neighborhood.

According to information from the Civil Police, the corpse had several punctures caused by a white weapon. Initially, approximately 15 perforations were identified, in addition to marks that would indicate an attempt to cut in the neck region.

A resident who passed through the area found the body and activated the Military Police. A team from the 12th Battalion was referred to the address and confirmed the occurrence.

Rescue demands support from firefighters

The removal of the body found in Abranches required the support of the Fire Department due to the difficulties of access to the site.

The corpse was inside a stream, below a shoreline, in a forest region. After the forensic work on site, the firefighters carried out the withdrawal.

The body was then referred to the Instituto Médico Legal (IML) in Curitiba, where it must undergo the necessary procedures for identification and examinations that can help determine the circumstances of death.

Lieutenant Frankenberger of the Paraná Military Police confirmed that the two bodies were found in nearby locations, but stressed that there is not yet enough information to establish a link between the occurrences.

According to the police, the teams were still looking for information on the identity of the man found on Wednesday and the circumstances of the death.

Another body was found the night before.

By Tuesday night (29), the Military Police had already been activated to attend another occurrence in the same region.

A company employee found the body of a man. With the arrival of the police teams and the Scientific Police, it was found that the corpse was without its head and arms.

On Wednesday, the victim was identified as 30-year-old Ederson Correia Costa. The recognition was made by his father, Ednei.

Ederson’s head had been found inside a purse on Friday (25), at Almirante Tamandaré, in the Metropolitan Region of Curitiba. The police were investigating the case and were looking for other parts of the body.

Police investigate possible relationship

The proximity between the place where Ederson was found and the point of the second corpse should be part of the investigation. However, until the publication of this article, there was no official confirmation that the two cases were related.

The identity of the man found on Wednesday had not yet been officially confirmed.

The Civil Police will be responsible for investigating the circumstances of the death, including the identification of the victim, the cause of death and the way the corpse ended up in the river.

The Military Police also directs that anyone who has information that can help in the investigations should contact the security forces. Data on the identity of the victim or suspicious movements in the region can contribute to the clarification of the case.
