Couple Injured After Car Hits Pole in Núcleo Pitangui in PG

An accident at Núcleo Pitangui left a couple injured on Saturday night in Ponta Grossa. The car in which they were hit a pole after the driver accessed Rio Capivari Street, in the Neves neighborhood.

According to the information obtained on the spot, the vehicle was following the Almirante Barroso Street and, at the moment it accessed the Rio Capivari Street, it ended up leaving the trajectory and hitting a pole.

The Fire Department was initially called in with the information that one of the victims was unconscious inside the vehicle. When the teams arrived at the address, however, they found that the person was conscious, oriented and without injuries considered serious.

In the car were a 32-year-old man, pointed as a driver, and a 35-year-old woman, who was occupying the passenger seat.

The couple received attention from the fire department.

The driver had a wound in the mouth. The passenger was awake, conscious and oriented, with injuries initially classified as mild to moderate.

The two received assistance from the Fire Department team at the accident site in the Pitangui Core and were subsequently referred for medical care in UPA Uvaranas, in Ponta Grossa.

According to the preliminary information passed on about the occurrence, the occupants of the car showed signs that could indicate alcohol consumption. To date, however, there is no confirmed information about any performance or result of the test of the ethylometer. Therefore, it cannot be said that the driver was drunk.

Transit has been triggered

The patrol and trânsito viário teams were also called in to attend the occurrence and perform the procedures related to the accident.

The collision was of the type **self-shield**, when a vehicle hits a fixed structure. In this case, the car directly collided with a pole.

Despite the impact, there was no initial record of victims in serious condition. The circumstances that caused the driver to lose control of the vehicle must be determined by the responsible bodies.
