Presos escape through hole in wall of Castro Public Prison; PM releases timeline
Escape of eight prisoners occurred on Thursday night (10). Four have already been recaptured in Castro.

Eight detainees fled from Castro’s public prison on Wednesday night, around 8:30 p.m. The leak was officially recorded at 01:18 this Thursday (11). So far, four fugitives have been recaptured.
According to the report, the initial alert was given by a private vigilante, who reported to the Municipal Guard that he saw about seven detainees fleeing through the back of the custody house, towards the Vila dos Pacas, in the Center.
The Municipal Guard contacted the DEPEN / Criminal Police team. Initially the escape was denied, but after physical conference in the cells, about 5 minutes later, a hole was found in the wall of the back of the 402 cell, in the external gallery.
At 8:46 p.m., the Criminal Police confirmed the escape to the Military Police, informing that there were eight escaped and that they would have fled towards the opposite bank of the Iapó River, in the direction of Vila dos Pacas. The identification cards were immediately sent to the security forces.
At 9:07 pm, PM and DEPEN teams met in Vila dos Pacas to articulate the search.
The first recapture took place at 10:13 pm. The Castro Municipal Guard intercepted a Fiat Palio vehicle, license plates MBQ5382, and captured 4 of the fugitives who were in the car.
The search for the other four inmates continues.

- Criminal Police / DEPEN: Service and leisure officers;
- Guardia Municipal de Castro: Area teams;
- Military Police / 1st BPM: Shock Teams, ROCAM, P2 (Intelligence), CPU Officer and Commander of the 3rd Cia.
