Prisoners escape from Castro Public Jail and security forces conduct searches

The escape of prisoners in Castro mobilized teams of the Military Police and the Municipal Guard on Thursday night (10). Seven detainees left Castro’s public prison, in the Campos Gerais do Paraná, and security forces began a search operation to locate the fugitives.

The information was confirmed by the command of the 3rd Military Police Company. As initially determined, the occurrence was not reported by the Criminal Police Department of Paraná (Deppen), but directly to the security teams that acted in an attempt to locate the prisoners.

Shortly after the confirmation of the occurrence, teams of the Municipal Guard managed to locate four of the detainees who had escaped. By 10:30 p.m., less than two hours after the escape, four prisoners had already been recaptured.

The dynamics of the escape have not yet been clarified by the authorities. To date, no official information has been released about how the detainees managed to leave the prison unit.

After the incident, teams of the Military Police and the Municipal Guard remained mobilized carrying out searches in the region to locate the other fugitives.

Initially, the information indicated that ten prisoners had escaped from Castro’s Public Chain. During the monitoring of the situation, the number was reviewed by the authorities, with an update that part of the detainees had already been located.

The Municipal Secretariat of Public Security of Castro also monitors the case and provides support to the teams responsible for the searches.

The Castro Public Chain integrates the security system of the municipality and situations involving escapes mobilize protocols of joint action between different forces, such as Military Police, Municipal Guard and bodies responsible for the prison administration.
