Unimed Ponta Grossa opens registration for free course for pregnant women in November

Unimed Ponta Grossa is open for registration for another edition of its traditional Pregnant Course, which will be held between November 9 and 12, 2026, at Colégio Sagrada Família Auxiliary, in Ponta Grossa. The event is free, face-to-face and open to the whole community, with activities aimed at future mothers and their companions.

During four nights, participants will have access to lectures with experts, practical workshops and guidance on the main care during pregnancy, childbirth and the first months of life of the baby. The program will also have moments for clarification of doubts, draw of gifts and delivery of certificates.

The initiative seeks to offer information and welcome to families who are preparing for the arrival of a new member, addressing from prenatal follow-up to the challenges of breastfeeding and newborn care.

According to Unimed Ponta Grossa Health Management Coordinator, Ana Paula Foltran, the proposal is to strengthen prevention and comprehensive care from the first moments of life.

"Our goal with the Pregnancy Course is to provide a safe and welcoming space where families can ask questions directly with reference professionals, learning not only the theory, but also the daily practice with the baby," he points out.

Pregnant Course will have lectures and practical workshops

The Unimed Pregnancy Course Ponta Grossa was organized to address different stages of pregnancy and the main care needed after birth.

On Monday (9), the opening will feature the lecture "From prenatal to childbirth: what should I know?", given by obstetrician Soilen Garcia Catossi. The meeting will present important information about the follow-up of pregnancy and the preparation for birth.

On Tuesday (10), pediatrician Dr. Vanessa Scoss Kassai will lead the panel "Prenatal Pediatrics, Childbirth and Childcare", with guidance on health and child development monitoring.

Already on Wednesday (11), participants will have a night dedicated to practical health workshops, with activities on healthy eating, maternal mental health, first aid, bathing and diaper changing.

The closure takes place on Thursday (12), with the theme "All about breastfeeding", presented by the team of the program Unimaterna. The activity will address doubts and care related to breastfeeding.

Every day, the reception begins at 18:30, while the activities will be held from 19:00 to 21:30.

Registration is free, but places are limited

Although it is free, the course will have a solidarity proposal. In order to register in person, participants must deliver a diaper pack or a can of powdered milk at the reception of the first day of the event, on November 9.

The proceeds collected will be destined for social actions and support institutions in the region, expanding the scope of the initiative beyond the participating families.

Places are limited, and pregnant women interested in participating, accompanied by a person of their choice, must register in advance through the form provided by the organization.
