Young Takes Ride via App, Disappears, Family Discovers Tragedy on BR-277
The family had already posted about their disappearance on social media before discovering she was among the three victims of the accident
A new information on the serious accident that killed three people on BR-277, in Fernandes Pinheiro, in the early hours of Tuesday (22), reveals the story of one of the victims. The young Amanda Marcondes de Oliveira, 26, was traveling by ride by app when she lost her life in the collision between a car and a truck. Before she knew about the tragedy, the family searched for her on social media.
Amanda was a social media native of Cascavel and lived in Curitiba. She had left Cascavel for the capital of Paraná, using the BlaBlaCar ride app. The last contact of the young woman with the family took place at 22:23 on Monday (21), when she reported that she was passing through Candoi, a municipality located approximately 188 kilometers from Fernandes Pinheiro.

After that, the relatives lost contact with Amanda and even spread publications on social networks in search of information about her whereabouts. They later discovered that the young woman was among the fatal victims of the accident that occurred during the early hours of the morning.
Three people died in the accident
In addition to Amanda, professor Daniele Borges de Souza Lima, 41, and mason Demetrio Moreno, 38, died. The three were in the same vehicle and shared the trip through the ride app.
According to the Federal Highway Police (PRF), the frontal collision occurred around 1:25 a.m., in a time of intense rain on the highway. The driver of the truck was not injured.
The circumstances of the accident are being investigated. According to the delegate Lucas Faria, responsible for the investigation, the initial indications indicate that the driver lost control of the steering and hit the truck.
App speaks about the tragedy
After the accident, BlaBlaCar released a note lamenting the deaths of the three occupants of the vehicle. The company said it is collaborating with the authorities responsible for the investigations and maintaining contact with the victims’ families to offer support and assistance.
Amanda Marcondes de Oliveira will be cremated in the early afternoon of Wednesday (23), in Ponta Grossa.
