An accident between a school van and a motorcycle in Ponta Grossa left a 35-year-old motorcyclist seriously injured on Thursday night in the Neves neighborhood. The collision occurred at the intersection of Neci Nunes Ferreira and Júlio Leandro da Fonseca streets, in the Vila Lagoa Dourada region.
According to information raised at the site of the occurrence, the collision involved a motorcycle and a van used for school transport. At the time of the accident, the 60-year-old driver and two children were in the vehicle.
None of the occupants of the van were injured.
Motorcyclist sustained injuries to face
The Mobile Emergency Service (Samu) was activated to respond to the occurrence. The motorcyclist had bruises, abrasions and a serious injury in the region of the face.
Initially, he was referred for service on the UPA Uvaranas. According to the information obtained on site, the medical team subsequently evaluated the transfer of the victim to the Hospital Universitário Regional dos Campos Gerais.

Preliminary information indicates that the van ran along Neci Nunes Ferreira Street and made a conversion to the left to access Júlio Leandro da Fonseca Street.
The motorcycle followed along the same Rua Neci Nunes Ferreira, but in the opposite direction. The collision occurred during the conversion performed by the van.
According to the report passed on the site, the driver of the van said that he would not have seen the approach of the motorcycle before starting the maneuver.
