Woman was stopped by GCM after an elderly woman's device disappeared from her home in Vila Santa Paula; accused of theft
An occurrence of cellphone theft in Ponta Grossa ended with a woman approached by the Municipal Civil Guard (GCM) in the central region of the city on Tuesday night (29). According to the company’s report, the device belonged to a 69-year-old woman and disappeared after the suspect entered the victim’s residence, located in the Vila Santa Paula region.
According to the information passed on by the GCM, the woman was working with the delivery of pamphlets when she sought the residence of the elderly woman. Initially, he would have asked for a glass of water and permission to use the Wi-Fi network of the property.
According to the report recorded by the corporation, after leaving the address, the woman had returned and requested authorization to use the bathroom of the residence. After she left, the resident realized that her phone, a Samsung Galaxy A05s, had disappeared.
Family has activated the GCM
After noticing the missing device, the victim contacted the granddaughter. The two made several calls to the phone, but found that the cell phone was turned off.
The granddaughter then reported the situation to the Municipal Civil Guard and informed the characteristics of the woman who had passed through the residence. The team was also informed that the last available location of the device indicated the central region of Ponta Grossa.

During patrol, members of the equipe GAT Golf saw a woman with similar characteristics to those reported. The approach took place at a fair in the vicinity of the Popular Restaurant.
The GCM reported that the woman was identified as Karine Rodrigues Fortunato.
Cell phone was off
During the approach, according to the bulletin of the Municipal Guard, the woman confirmed that she was in the residence of the elderly woman, used the bathroom and tried to access the Wi-Fi network. According to the version registered by GCM, she stated that she would not have realized that she had taken with her the device belonging to the resident. At the time of the approach, the cell phone was off.
In the face of the situation, the woman was informed about her rights and referred to the 13th Police Subdivision (13th SDP), where the case would be presented to the police authority on duty for analysis and adoption of the appropriate measures. A team from GCM Alpha also provided support during the handling of the occurrence.
The registration was made under the U.S.O. No. 2026/1296637 and initially classified as qualified theft. The legal definition and possible accountability lies with the authorities responsible for investigating the case.
