Another benefit is the reduction of tourist seasonality, since the events can attract visitors during different periods of the year.

With internationally recognized attractions, such as the Iguazu Falls, the city still offers participants the possibility of combining professional commitments with tourist experiences.

One of the examples is the meeting promoted by the AGP Institute, which brings together approximately 500 participants from 24 Brazilian states and chose the Grand Carimã for two consecutive editions.

According to the director of the institution, Eduardo Anziliero, between 50% and 70% of the participants stay in the resort itself during the programming.

“When we choose a venue to hold an event, we don’t just evaluate the structure for the activities. The experience of the participants is also essential. In Foz, we were able to combine space, accommodation, gastronomy and the possibility of enjoying the destination," says Eduardo.

The programming uses more than a thousand square meters of the complex, including circulation spaces and environments prepared for integration between the participants.

In addition to the technical activities, the event also contemplates moments of fraternization, with regional gastronomy, music and meetings in the pool area.

Grand Carimã also hosted a congress with 1,300 participants

Another highlight was the holding of the 24th Congress of APEPREV, in conjunction with the 3rd International Seminar on Social Security.

The meeting brought together about 1,300 participants from 275 municipalities and 25 Brazilian states, as well as international speakers.

The association has already chosen Foz do Iguaçu for six editions of its events, three of which are major congresses.

For the president of APEPREV, Márcio Apolinário, the tourist infrastructure of the city contributes directly to the organization and success of the meetings.

"Foz do Iguaçu offers a structure that meets the needs of a large congress very well. We have suitable spaces, hotel network, gastronomy, transport and attractions that complement the experience of the participants", highlights Márcio.

The holding of events of this size demonstrates the importance of enterprises capable of concentrating different services, providing greater practicality to organizers.

Foz do Iguaçu expands its presence in the international event market

The strengthening of the sector follows the growth of the congress and convention industry in Brazil.

The 2025 edition of the International Association of Congresses and Conventions (ICCA) survey analyzed 12,438 events held around the world, highlighting the international dimension of this market.

In this scenario, Foz do Iguaçu seeks to expand its competitiveness through the combination of infrastructure for large meetings, hotel chain and tourist attractions.
