Three drivers are injured after collision on PRC-466 in Pitanga

A collision on PRC-466 in Pitanga left three drivers injured on Thursday morning, in the stretch between Boa Ventura de São Roque and Pitanga, in the central region of the Paraná. The accident occurred around 10:30 a.m., at km 192.2 of the highway, and involved three trucks.

According to information from the Road Police Battalion (BPRv), a Ford Cargo, with Pitanga plates, was traveling on the PRC-466 in the direction of Boa Ventura from São Roque to Pitanga. In the opposite direction followed a Mercedes-Benz Actros, emplaced in Cruzeiro do Oeste, which was coupled to two semi-trailers.

Arriving at km 192.2, the Ford Cargo and the Mercedes-Benz Actros were involved in a frontal collision.

The truck left the track after impact.

After the hit, the combination of cargo vehicles formed by the Mercedes-Benz and the two semi-trailers left the track. The assembly then hit a Volvo VM 360, with plates from Manaus, which stood on the side of the highway unloading land in a construction area.

The driver of the 24-year-old Ford Cargo suffered injuries considered moderate.

The driver of the 56-year-old Mercedes-Benz Actros suffered minor injuries. The 35-year-old Volvo driver also suffered minor injuries.

Victims were taken to hospitals

According to the Road Police, the three drivers involved in the accident needed care and were referred to hospital units in Pitanga and Guarapuava.

In addition to the injuries, the collision on the PRC-466 at Pitanga caused material damage to the Ford Cargo, Mercedes-Benz Actros and Volvo VM 360.

The vehicles were consulted by the police teams and were in regular situation. After the procedures carried out on site, they were handed over to the respective responsible.

The accident occurred on the stretch of PRC-466 that connects Boa Ventura from São Roque to Pitanga. The dynamics recorded by the Road Police point out that, after the initial frontal collision, the set formed by the Mercedes-Benz and the semi-trailers left the track before reaching the truck that worked on the roadside.

The circumstances of the accident were recorded by the Paraná Military Police, through the Road Police Battalion.
