CNH expired between June and September has extended validity until December
No need to issue new CNH document, says Contran

The National Transit Council (Contran) has exceptionally extended the validity of the Moped Driving Authorization (ACCs) and the National License (CNH) expired or due between June 5 and December 8, 2026. With the new deadline, these documents automatically remain valid until December 9, 2026.
The measure is described in the decision of Contran (no 279), published in the extra edition of the Official Gazette of the Union last Wednesday (9).
The extension of the validity of drivers' documents must be respected by the traffic control, members of the National Traffic System (SNT), throughout the country.
This authorization for the extension of validity of the CNH and the ACC does not apply to suspended or broken drivers.
No bureaucracy
It will not be necessary to issue a new document or to carry out any procedure for recording the extension of which this deliberation is concerned.
After the deadline (9 December), the driver will still have the traditional 30 days of grace provided for in the Brazilian Transit Code (CTB) to make the renewal without penalty.
The transit executive bodies or entities of the states and of the Federal District, the Detrans, have a period of 30 days to update, in the National Register of Permits (Renach), the registers of doctors and psychologists expert examiners and of entities authorized to perform physical and mental fitness exams and psychological evaluations.
According to the deliberation, the objective is to ensure the proper targeting of candidates and drivers who will carry out these procedures.
